Arborline ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website arborline.co and the services available through it (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have over it. Please read it carefully.

Information you provide directly
- Homeowners: your full name, email address, phone number (optional), property address, and details about your tree care job (tree sizes, service types, access notes).
- Arborists: your full name, email address, company name, ISA certification information, service area, and Stripe Connect account details.
Information collected automatically
- IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URL.
- Pages viewed, time spent on the Service, and links clicked.
- Session identifiers stored in cookies to keep you logged in.
Payment information
We do not store credit card numbers or banking details. All payment processing is handled by Stripe. When you enter payment information, it is transmitted directly to Stripe and governed by their privacy policy.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To match homeowner job requests with arborists in the relevant service area.
- To process payments and payouts through Stripe.
- To send transactional emails: job confirmations, quote notifications, payment receipts, and account updates. You cannot opt out of transactional emails while your account is active.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
- To improve the Service through aggregated, anonymized analytics.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:
- Between users: when a homeowner submits a job, limited job details (address area, scope of work) are visible to arborists in the service area. When an arborist submits a quote, their name and company are visible to the homeowner.
- Service providers: we share data with the third-party services listed below solely to operate the Service.
- Legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Arborline or its users.
- Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer to the new owner.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Arborline. Each has its own privacy policy.
5. Data Retention
- Account data is retained while your account is active. If you close your account, we delete your personal information within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.
- Job and transaction records are retained for up to 7 years for tax and legal compliance.
- Stripe retains payment records according to their own retention policy.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you authenticated while using the Service. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so will prevent you from staying logged in.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information in your account.
- Delete your account and associated personal data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing activities.
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured format.

If changes are material, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice on the Service before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
